FEDERAL RESERVE For immediate release July 1, 1964 H.12 COMMERCIAL AM? INDUSTRIAL LOANS OUTSTANDING BY INDUSTRY Commercial and industrial loans decreased in nine districts and a net of $137 million at weekly reporting member banks daring the week ended June 24. The principal net decreases were $31 million in loans to manufacturers of machinery, $29 million each to manufacturers of food, liquor, and tobacco products and to the retail trade, $19 million to manufacturers of transportation equipment, and $15 million to transportation, communication, and other public utilities. The outstanding loans and changes during the week and since year-end are shown below; fourth column shows the changes during the comparable period last year.
