COMMERCIAL AND INDUSTRIAL LOANS OUTSTANDING BY INDUSTRY

Commercial and industrial loans increased a net of $241 million
at weekly reporting large commercial banks during the week ended December 27,
The principal net increases were $121 million in total
unclassified loans, $108 million in loans to manufactures of chemicals
and rubber and $75 million in loans for services.
The largest offsetting net decrease was $131 million in
loans for mining.
