CHANGES IN COMMERCIAL AND INDUSTRIAL LOANS BY INDUSTRY

H.12

The n e t decrease of $325 m i l l i o n i n commercial and i n d u s t r i a l loans during the
week ended January 16 included decreases i n a l l b u t t h r e e of t h e i n d u s t r i a l c l a s s i f i cations.
The p r i n c i p a l n e t decreases were $157 m i l l i o n i n loans t o t r a n s p o r t a t i o n ,
communication, and o t h e r p u b l i c u t i l i t i e s , $43 m i l l i o n t o t h e wholesale t r a d e , and
• $49 m i l l i o n t o u n c l a s s i f i e d bqirrowers.
