COMMERCIAL AMD INDUSTRIAL LOANS OUTSTANDING BY INDUSTRY

Commercial and i n d u s t r i a l loans Increased a net of $11 m i l l i o n a t weeklyreporting member banks during t h e week ended February 9The p r i n c i p a l net increases were $56 million in loans t o manufacturers of
t e x t i l e s , apparel, and l e a t h e r products, $30 m i l l i o n t o manufacturers of t r a n s p o r t a t i o n
equipment, and $16 m i l l i o n t o "other" wholesale t r a d e .
The l a r g e s t o f f s e t t i n g net decreases were $38 million i n loans t o r e t a i l t r a d e ,
$25 million each t o t r a n s p o r t a t i o n , communication, and other public u t i l i t i e s , and t o
u n c l a s s i f i e d borrowers.
Outstanding loans and changes from a week ago and a year ago are. shown below;
cumulative changes since mid-year and during t h e comparable period l a s t year are shown
i n the l a s t two columns.
