COMMERCIAL AND I N D U S T R I E fi^ffiC^UTSTANDING BY INDUSTRY
Commercial and industrial loans increased a net of $263 million at weekly
reporting large commercial banks during the week ended February 3.
The principal net increases were $46 million in loans to Communications,
$45 million in bankers' acceptances, and $79 million to unclassified borrowers.
The largest offsetting net decrease was $82 million in loans to services.

COMMERCIAL AND INDUSTRIAL TERM LOANS OUTSTANDING BY INDUSTRY

Total business term loans were $32,569 million as of January. This was an
increase of $180 million over the comparable data a year ago and an increase of
$211 million from the last Wednesday in December.
The principal net changes in term loans during January were $167 million
in loans to transportation, $59 million to all "other" loans, and $55 million to
manufacturers of other nondurable goods.
The total of all business term loans on January 27 represented approximately
49 percent of total of business loans outstanding at large commercial banks
reporting in the series.
