of G V O* FEDERAL statistical RESERVE release For Immediate release December 16, 1964 H.12 COMMERCIAL AND INDUSTRIAL LQAKB OUTSTANDING BY INDUSTRY Commercial and industrial loans decreased a net of $85 million at weekly reporting member banks during the week ended December 9* The principal net decreases were $160 million in loans to retail trade, $23 million to commodity dealers, and $18 million to manufacturers of food, liquor, and tobacco products. The larger net increases were $50 million in bankers' acceptances and $28 million to manufacturers of chemicals and rubber products. The outstanding loans and changes during the week and since mid-year are shown below; fourth column shows the changes during the comparable period last year.
