COMMERCIAL AND INDUSTRIAL LOANS OUTSTANDING BY INDUSTRY
Commercial and industrial loans decreased a net of $292 million at
weekly reporting large commercial banks during the week ended August 19.
The principal net decreases were $45 million in loans to manufactures
of machinery, and $103 million to all "other11 types of business concerns.
The largest offsetting net increase was $69 million in loans in bankers'
acceptances.
