COMMERCIAL AMD INDUSTRIAL LOANS OUTSTANDING BY INDUSTRY

^ H. 12

Commercial and industrial loans increased in nine districts and a net of
' $130 million at weekly reporting member banks during the week ended August 11.
The principal net increases were $34 million in loans to manufacturers
» of "other" fabricated metal products, $32 million to manufacturers of textiles,
, apparel, and leather products, $23 million to manufacturers of transportation
equipment, and $56 million to unclassified borrowers.
The largest offsetting net decrease was $80 million in loans to retail
trade.
Outstanding loans and changes from a week ago and a year ago are shown
below; cumulative changes since mid-year and during the comparable period last

year are shown in the last two columns.
