COMMERCIAL AND INDUSTRIAL LOANS OUTSTANDING BY INDUSTRY

Hel2

Commercial and industrial loans decreased a net of $291 million
at weekly reporting large commercial banks during the week ended August
6, 1975.
The principal net decreases were $106 million in loans for services,
$94 million in loans for transportation equipment and $83 million in loans
for retail trade.
The largest offsetting increase was $66 million in all other loans.

LOANS OUTSTANDING

BY

INDUSTRY

Total commercial and industrial term loans were $47,701 million
as of July 30, 1975. This was an increase of $2,302 million over the comparable data a year ago and a decrease of $95 million from the last Wednesday
in June.
The principal net changes were $113 million in loans for machinery,
$96 million in loans for chemicals and rubber and $74 million in loans for
food, liquor and tobacco.
The total of all business term loans on July 30 represents 48 percent
of business outstanding at large commercial banks in the series.
