FEDERAL statistical RESERVE release For Immediate r e l e a s e August 12, 1964 H.12 COMMERCIAL A D INDUSTRIAL LOANS OUTSTANDING BY INDUSTRY M Commercial and i n d u s t r i a l loans increased i n t e n d i s t r i c t s and a net of $151 m i l l i o n a t weekly r e p o r t i n g member banks during the week ended August 5» The p r i n c i p a l net increases were $52 m i l l i o n i n loans t o r e t a i l t r a d e , $21 m i l l i o n t o t h e construction i n d u s t r y , $19 m i l l i o n each t o manufacturers of t r a n s p o r t a t i o n equipment and to manufacturers of t e x t i l e s , a p p a r e l , and l e a t h e r products, and $17 m i l l i o n t o u n c l a s s i f i e d borrowers.
