Commercial and i n d u s t r i a l l o a n s d e c r e a s e d a n e t of $277 m i l l i o n a t weekly
r e p o r t i n g l a r g e commercial banks d u r i n g t h e week ended March 31.
The p r i n c i p a l n e t d e c r e a s e s were $190 m i l l i o n i n l o a n s t o m a n u f a c t u r e r s
of p e t r o l e u m r e f i n i n g i n d u s t r y , $61 m i l l i o n t o communications, and $62 m i l l i o n
in bankers' acceptances.
The l a r g e r o f f s e t t i n g n e t i n c r e a s e s were $55 m i l l i o n i n l o a n s t o r e t a i l
t r a d e , and $58 m i l l i o n t o u n c l a s s i f i e d b o r r o w e r s .
