COMMERCIAL AND INDUSTRIAL LOANS OUTSTANDING BY INDUSTRY
Commercial and industrial loans decreased a net of $93 million at
weekly reporting large commercial banks during the week ended April 23.
The principal net decreases were $72 million in loans to transporation,
$43 million to manufacturers of machinery, $42 million to commodity dealers, $41
million in bankers 1 acceptances, and $240 million to unclassified borrowers.
The larger offsetting net increases were $124 million in loans to
retail trade, and $70 million to "all other" types of business concerns.
