For immediate release April 14, 1971 H.12b COMMERCIAL AND INDUSTRIAL TERM LOANS OUTSTANDING BY INDUSTRY Total business term loans were $32,192 million as of March. This was a decrease of $9 million over the comparable data a year ago and an increase of $361 million from the last Wednesday in February. The principal net changes in term loans during March were $227 million in Loans to manufacturers of the petroleum refining industry, $147 million to the mining industry including petroleum and natrual gas, and $104 million to transportation. The total of all business term loans on March 31 represented approximately 1 8 percent of total of business loans outstanding at large commercial banks * reporting in the series.
