FEDERAL RESERVE statistical release G. 17 For immediate release April 1, 1971 MATURITY DISTRIBUTION OF EURO-DOLLAR DEPOSITS IN FOREIGN BRANCHES OF U.S. BANKS The average maturity of Euro-dollar deposits in foreign branches of U.S. banks at the end of January 1971 rose to 2.3 months, up from an average of 2.1 months at year end; while the average maturity of deposits excluding call and overnight deposits rose to 2.5 months in January, up from 2.3 months at year end. Total Euro-dollar deposits declined slightly to $27.8 billion.
