R e t a i l f u r n i t u r e store sales in February increased 8 per cent
f r o m J a n u a r y "but c o n t i n u e d somewhat b e l o w t h e y e a r - a g o l e v e l . " Cash s a l e s

t h e c o r r e s p o n d i n g month o f 1 9 4 2 . C h a r g e a c c o u n t s a l e s w e r e i n a b o u t t h e
same volume a s a y e a r a g o , w h i l e i n s t a l m e n t s a l e s c o n t i n u e d w e l l b e l o w
t h e y e a r - a g o l e v e l . I n F e b r u a r y 1&43 i n s t a l m e n t s a l e s a c c o u n t e d f o r ,

t h e c o r r e s p o n d i n g d a t e o f 1 9 4 2 . C o l l e c t i o n s on i n s t a l m e n t a c c o u n t s
showed d e c r e a s e s of 8 p e r c e n t and 7 p e r c e n t f r o m a month ago and a y e a r
