Perine Named Manager of St. Louis Fed's Memphis Branch

ST. LOUIS - Martha L. Perine, vice president of Personnel and Customer Relations for
the Federal Reserve Bank of St. Louis, has been named manager of the Memphis Branch,
effective February 1, 1997.

Perine has a bachelor of arts degree in business administration from Clark Atlanta
University in Atlanta, Georgia, and a master of science degree in economics from
Washington University in St. Louis. She is the central regional director and immediate past
treasurer for Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc.

The Federal Reserve Bank of St. Louis has branches in Little Rock, Louisville and
Memphis. It serves the Eighth Federal Reserve District, which includes all of Arkansas,
eastern Missouri, southern Indiana, southern Illinois, western Kentucky, western Tennessee
and northern Mississippi. In addition to serving as a bank for depository institutions and the
U.S. government, each Reserve Bank supervises state-chartered member banks and bank
holding companies, monitors economic conditions in the District and participates in
formulating monetary policy.
