Eighth Federal Reserve District:

T he Louisville Branch of this bank will be closed for all activities on S atur­
day, December 26. Normally the Louisville Branch is of>en for business on
Saturdays occurring in weeks during which a holiday has been observed; how­
ever. the Governor of Kentucky has issued a proclamation perm itting banking
institutions to suspend business on that day.
T he Check Collection Departm ent of the Louisville Branch will not operate
on December 26.
While no money shipments will l>e made on December 26, a bank may order
currency shipments for delivery on M onday, December 28, by specifically re­
questing such delivery on an order reaching the branch 'not .later than the pre­
ceding Thursday.
Member banks located in the zones served by the Louisville Branch may
treat Saturday, December 26, as a business day in calculating the availability
of cash letters consisting of deferred credit cash items which the Louisville
Branch receives and handles on December 24. Direct sending member banks
may also count December 26 as a business day in calculating the availability of
cash letters forwarded on December 24 to other Federal Reserve Banks and
branches.
