L o u i s 2, M i s s o u r i LIST OF NOMINATIONS FOR DIRECTORS R EG U LA R ELEC TIO N BY M EM B ER BANKS IN GROUPS 1 AND 2 November 1, 1957 To the M em ber B atiks in the E ighth Federal Reserve D istrict: In accordance with the provisions of Section 4 of the Federal Reserve Act and my circular dated September 20, 1957, in regard to the election of a Class A director and a Class B director of this bank to succeed those whose terms expire on December 31 of this year, there are Riven on the following pages the names of the candidates, a brief biography of each candidate, and a list of the banks nominating each one. There is sent herewith to each bank in Group 2 a preferential ballot for use i:i voting on the candidates for Class A director, and to each bank in Group 1 a preferential ballot for use in voting on the candidate for Class B director. There are also enclosed with each ballot an envelope bearing on its face the certificate in regard to the vote, an envelope marked “ Ballot” in which to seal the ballot, and a self-addressed return envelope. The ballot and certificate on the envelope must be executed by an officer who has been authorized to cast the vote. A revised list of the banks in Groups 1 and 2 and the officers authorized to cast the vote, as certified to the Chairman of the Board of this bank, are shown on pages 4 to 8, inclusive, of this circular. In order that the ballot may be secret, the name of the bank and of the voting officer should not be written on the ballot, but only on the certificate envelope. The following procedure should be observed: (1) After the preferential ballot has been marked according to the instructions thereon, (2) It should be placed in the colored envelope marked “ Ballot” and the envelope sealed. (3) After the certificate on the certificate envelope has been executed, (4) The ballot envelope should be placed within the certificate envelope and the latter sealed. (5) Then this certificate envelope containing the sealed ballot envelope should be returned to me in the self-addressed envelope. Under the law, the ballot m ust be returned so as to reach me within fifteen days after its receipt. The polls will open on November 4 and close at 2 p.m. on November 19,1957. At th at time the ballot box will be opened in the Board Room of this bank, the sealed envelopes containing the ballots will be opened, the votes counted and the results announced. The candidates are invited to be present or represented on th a t occasion.
