1 % Percent Treasury Notes o f Series B-1957

Basis o f Allotment

To All Banking Institutions, and Others Concerned,
in the Second Federal Beserve D istrict:

The follow ing statement was made public tod a y:
The Treasury today announced a 50 percent allotment on subscriptions
for the current offering of 1% percent Treasury Notes of Series B-1957.
However, subscriptions for $50,000 or less will be allotted in full. Subscrip­
tions for more than $50,000 will be allotted not less than $50,000.
Reports received from the Federal Reserve Banks show that subscrip­
tions total about $8.2 billion. Details by Federal Reserve Districts as to
subscriptions and allotments will be announced when final reports are
received from the Federal Reserve Banks.
