To all Banks, Trust Companies

District:

New counterfeit paper money has been discovered by the Secret Service in the form
of a $20 Federal Reserve note. The details of the imitation, described by the Treasury
Department in its circular letter No. 468, are as follows:
" O n the Federal Reserve Bank of Boston, Massachusetts; check letter ' C ; face plate
No. 48; back plate No. 44; series of 1914; Carter Glass, Secretary of the Treasury; John
Burke, Treasurer of the United States; portrait of Cleveland.
"This is a poor photo-mechanical production, printed on one piece of paper, no attempt
being made to imitate the silk fibre of the genuine notes.
" T h i s counterfeit should not deceive the careful handler of money."

Very truly yours,
