SOURCES OF PERSONAL INCOME
Personal income rose $37.1 billion (annual rate) in December, following a decline of $8.2 billion in November. The
changes were affected by two special factors—large subsidy payments to farm proprietors in November and
December and bonus payments to employees in the automobile industry in November. Excluding the effect of these
factors, personal income increased $31.3 billion in December and $20.6 billion in November.
