MEMBER BANK C A L L REPORT NUMBER 91 CONDITION OF MEMBER BANKS JUNE 30, 1942 <***»•** . ■ 4 r \ LIBRARY • m m - *s> BOARD OF GOVERNORS OF THE FEDERAL RESERVE SYSTEM T h e MEMBER BANK CALL REPORT is published follow ing each official call upon member banks of the Federal Reserve System for statements of their condition. It contains tables showing assets and liabilities and a classification 1 of loans, in vestments, and deposits for all member banks (national and State) in the country as a w hole, by Federal Reserve districts and by classes of banks. Tables are also given, by reserve cities and States, showing assets and liabilities and a classification of deposits for all member banks. The figures shown for central reserve city banks are exclu sive of assets and liabilities of any member banks located in outlying sections of such cities w hich have been granted per mission to carry either the same reserves as are required to be maintained by reserve city banks or the same reserves as are required to be carried by country banks. The figures shown for.reserve city banks are exclusive of assets and liabilities of any member banks located in outlying sections of such cities w hich have been granted permission to carry the same reserves as are required to be carried by country banks. In the tabulations presented herewith the figures for all domestic branches are consolidated w ith those of their head offices. Consequently, the figures for some reserve cities as shown in the Call Report include assets and liabilities of many branches located outside of such cities. A ll figures included in this report relating to the condition of national banks were furnished by the Comptroller of the Currency. The abstract of condition reports of national banks issued by the Comptroller gives detailed statistical data regard ing the condition of national banks. 1 Beginning with the October, 1939, call a “ short form” of Member Bank Call R eport has been used for spring and autumn calls. As a result, the loan and investment classifications published on pages 3, 5,8, and 9 of the June and December issues of the “ Member Bank Call R eport” are not available for the spring and autum n calls. Likewise, some of the items of assets and liabilities shown separately on June and December call dates are combined with other items on spring and autumn call dates. Changes since prior dates are on shown comparable basis. 3 Demand deposits other than interbank and United States Government, less cash items reported as in process of collection. NOTE.—Changes in assets and liabilities of member banks are affected from time to time by admissions of banks to membership and of banks liqui dating or withdrawing from membership. Of the increase of 896 million dollars in total loans and investments in New York City during the period April 4 to June 30, 472 million is due to the admission to membership of one large bank, which on June 30 had total loans of 67 million dollars and total in vestments of 405 million.
