FEDERAL RESERVE BANK OF DALLAS FISCAL AGENT OF THE UNITED STATES Dallas, Texas, October 23, 1953 SUSPENSION OF SALE OF TREASURY SAVINGS NOTES, SERIES C To All Banking Institutions and Others Concerned in the Eleventh Federal Reserve District: There is quoted below a press statement issued today by the Treasury Department: “ The Treasury Department announced today that the sale of Treasury Savings Notes, Series C, offered under Treasury Depart ment Circular No. 931, dated October 1, 1953, will be suspended at the close of business Friday, October 23, 1953, until further notice. “ Applications for these notes placed in the mail before 7 :00 o’clock p.m., Eastern Standard time, October 23, 1953, and those received by commercial banks and paid for by credit in the Treasury Tax and Loan accounts before the close of business Friday, October 23, will be considered as having been entered before the suspension of the sale of such notes.” Yours very truly, W.
