SURVEY OF TIME AND SAYINGS DEPOSITS

To the Chief Executive Officer, Each Member Bank
in the Eleventh Federal Reserve D istrict:
In carrying out its responsibilities in administering regulation Q, the Federal Reserve
System is instituting a quarterly report to collect data on the terms and amounts of time
and savings deposits outstanding by types of deposits. A sample copy of the form to be
used is enclosed for your information. Except for minor changes, the form is similar
to that used in the 1966 survey.
Forms will be forwarded to your bank about 1 week prior to the date of each
quarterly survey. The first report will cover time and savings deposits in your bank as of
January 31, 1967. Each quarterly report should be completed and returned to us within
1 week after the survey date.
Would you please let us know the name of the individual in your bank who will be
responsible for the report. A self-addressed card is enclosed for this purpose. In the event
there are any questions regarding this report, you or your representative may contact
Mr. Jerry Bender, Administrative Assistant, of our Research Department in Dallas.
We appreciate your cooperation in this important work.
Yours very truly,
Watrous H. Irons
President
