D A L LA S , T E X A S 7 5 2 6 5 -5 9 0 6 P R E S ID E N T AND C H IE F E X E C U T IV E O F F IC E R November 18, 1993 Notice 93-120 TO: The Chief Executive Officer of each member bank and others concerned in the Eleventh Federal Reserve District SUBJECT Request for Public Comment on a Proposed Interagency Rule to Amend the Real Estate Appraisal Standards; Availability of Supplemental Information DETAILS On June 4, 1993, the Board of Governors of the Federal Reserve System, the Office of the Comptroller of the Currency, the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation, and the Office of Thrift Supervision (collectively the agencies) published a proposed rule that would amend the agencies’ regulations regarding appraisals of real estate pursuant to Title XI of the Financial Institutions Reform, Recovery, and Enforcement Act of 1989. One of the proposed amendments was to increase from $100,000 to $250,000 the threshold level at or below which an appraisal is not required pursuant to Title XI. The agencies are placing supplemental information into the rulemak ing record primarily relating to the proposed increase in the threshold level and are requesting written comment on those materials as well as on public comments previously received. The Board must receive comments by December 10, 1993. Comments should be addressed to William W.
