REGULATION Q
INTEREST ON DEPOSITS
(Temporary Suspension of Early Withdrawal Penalty
for Additional Louisiana Parishes)
TO ALL MEMBER BANKS
AND OTHERS CONCERNED IN THE
ELEVENTH FEDERAL RESERVE DISTRICT:
On January 13, 1983, the Board of Governors granted a temporary
suspension of the Regulation Q (Interest on Deposits) penalty in the Louisiana
parishes of Allen, Beauregard, Calcasieu, Catahoula, Grant, LaSalle, Natchitoches,
Quachita, Rapides and Winn for depositors suffering property or other financial loss
in the disaster areas. As a further result of the severe storms and flooding in
December 1982, that order has been expanded to include the parishes of Caldwell,
Franklin, Lincoln, Morehouse, Richland and Union.
The Regulation Q penalty suspension is retro active to include deposits
withdrawn on or a fte r January 17, 1983, and will remain in e ffe c t until
12:00 midnight July 11, 1983. Officer approval and certification of depositors’ loss
statem e n ts will remain a requirem ent for penalty-free withdrawals from parishes
included in the expanded order.
