F ederal Reserve Bank o f D allas DALLAS, T E X A S 75222 Circular No. 81-177 September 1, 1981 RESERVE REQUIREMENTS OF DEPOSITORY INSTITUTIONS _____________________ (Regulation D)_____________________ REMINDER OF CHANGE IN TRANSITIONAL ADJUSTMENT PERCENTAGE FOR RESERVE REQUIREMENT COMPUTATIONS (MEMBER BANKS AND SELECTED FORMER MEMBER BANKS) TO ALL MEMBER BANKS AND OTHERS CONCERNED IN THE ELEVENTH FEDERAL RESERVE DISTRICT: This circular is a reminder of the continuing phase-in of tran sitional adjustments for computing Federal Reserve Requirements as provided for under the Monetary Control Act of 1980. As you know, Section 204.4 (b) (1) and (2), Transitional Adjustments for Members and Former Members, specifies a phase-in schedule for these depository institutions. Specifically, this section covers the required reserves of any depository institution that was a member bank on September 1, 1980, or was a member bank on or after July 1, 1979 and withdrew from membership before March 31, 1980, or withdrew from membership on or after March 31, 1980. (Currently, only paragraph (2) of Section 204.4 (b) is applicable in this District). The next six-month interval of the transitional adjustment schedule for member and former member depository institutions begins with the reserve maintenance period September 3, 1981 and continues through March 3, 1982. The percentage to be applied to compute the transitional adjustment will be 62.5 percent. This is down from the 75 percent transitional adjustment which was applied to the reserve maintenance periods occurring between November 13, 1980 through September 2, 1981. This downward change will be reflected in your reserve requirement computation on the Prestatem ent prepared for the reserve maintenance period September 3, 1981 through September 9, 1981. In addition, the transitional adjustment change will be reflected in the total reserve requirement on the daily Statem ent of Reserve Position beginning on September 3, 1981.
