PROPOSED AMENDMENT TO REGULATION D
"RESERVES OF MEMBER BANKS"

To All Member Banks
in the Eleventh Federal Reserve District:

Reference is made to my Circular No. 70-136 dated June 5? 1970
forwarding a copy of a press release and a copy of a proposed amendment
to Regulation D, section 20^.1 (j), excluding from the scope of the term
"currency and coin" any coin that is being held principally for its
bullion value or numismatic value.
To aid in consideration of this matter by the Board, interested
persons were invited to submit relevant data, views, or arguments in
writing to the Secretary, Board of Governors of the Federal Reserve
System, Washington, D. C. 20551? to be received not later than July 13?
1970.

Circular No. 70-165 dated July lU, 1970 indicated an extension from

July 13? 1970 to August 10, 1970.

The Board has now extended from August 10,

1970 to September 10, 1970, the period within which interested persons may
submit their views.
Requests for additional copies of Circular 70-136 and any questions
relative thereto should be addressed to the Accounting Department of this
Bank.
