Notice 98-30
TO:

The Chief Operating Officer of each
financial institution and others concerned
in the Eleventh Federal Reserve District

SUBJECT
Price Changes for Check Collection
DETAILS
The Federal Reserve Bank of Dallas will change some check collection service
charges and deposit deadlines at the Dallas and El Paso Offices, effective May 11, 1998. The
Federal Reserve is required by law to implement fees that fully recover all of the costs of check
operations. We have determined that a modest increase in some cash letter and item fees will be
necessary to achieve full cost recovery in 1998. Most customers will see only a minimal increase
in monthly expenses.
The changes in deposit deadlines are intended to even the flow of incoming work,
reduce processing bottlenecks, and help us maintain the lowest costs possible while serving our
customers. We remain committed to offering the highest quality check products and services.
A chart listing the revised fees and deposit deadlines at the Dallas and El Paso Offices
is on the reverse side of this page.
