F e d e r a l R e se r v e Ba n k OF DALLAS Dallas, Texas, October 15, 1957 GOVERNMENT CHECKS NOW PAYABLE WITHOUT TIME LIMITATION To all Banks in the Eleventh Federal Reserve District: We have been advised by the Treasury Department that Public Law 183, 85th Congress, approved August 28, 1957, provides that checks drawn on the Treasurer of the United States are now payable upon presentment with out limitation as to time. The Treasury Department also advised that its several regulations which contain references to the time within which checks drawn on the Treasurer will be paid upon presentment are in the process of being amended.
