EL PA SO BRANCH FEDER AL RESERVE BANK OF DALLAS EL PASO, TEX AS El Paso, Texas, June 15,1966 To All Member and Par Nonmember Banks in the El Paso Branch Territory: The first part of July the El Paso Branch of the Federal Reserve Bank of Dallas will begin processing checks for all banks in its territory on a high-speed check-handling system. Checks processed on this equipment will be batched in groups of 300 items or less, with a page for each batch. How ever, only one total of all machined work will appear on the cash letter form. No other change in the manner that checks are forwarded to the drawee banks will be made at this time. It will be very helpful if you will fully explain all adjustments to the total of our letter on the reverse side of each cash letter form (TR-1) which accompanies your remittance for our cash letter. Also, please return the pages with position of errors marked and, if possible, a photocopy of any improperly listed item. This will be very beneficial in our investigation of the differences. Your cooperation and assistance in this new procedure will be sincerely appreciated. Yours very truly, F. W. Reed Vice President-in-Charge This publication was digitized and made available by the Federal Reserve Bank of Dallas' Historical Library (FedHistory@dal.frb.org)
