CURRENCY AND C O IN S H IPM EN TS TO NONMEMBER. BANKS

To All Banks in the Eleventh
Federal Reserve District:

In accordance -with this Bank's Bulletin No. 5, shipments of
currency and coin are made directly to and received from nonmember
banks at the request of these banks and at their risk and expense.
A recent ruling by the Board of Governors of the Federal
Reserve System requires all Reserve Banks to make handling charges
for money shipments made to nonmember banks.

In compliance with

this requirement, the Federal Reserve Bank of Dallas and its branch
offices at El Paso, Houston, and San Antonio, beginning April 2, 1973>
will make a charge of fifty cents for each bag of currency or coin
shipped by armored carrier and one dollar for each bag sent by regĀ
istered mail directly to nonmember banks.
Any questions relating to these charges should be directed
to the Cash Department of the Federal Reserve Bank of Dallas or
appropriate branch office.
Yours very truly,
P. E. Coldwell
President
