TEXAS Dallas of STATES 75222 Circular No. 74-195 July 17, 1974 To All Banking Institutions In The Eleventh Federal Reserve District: The following information is being furnished at the request of the United States Secret Service: URGENT NOTICE According to information received there may be a quantity of counterfeit circulation. The counterfeits purport August 28, 1973 and due and payable on ment block is the legend "CUSIP 912793 from the Secret Service, $10,000 Treasury bills in to be Treasury bills issued August 27, 1974. In the pay TW6 . " There are several defects in the counterfeit securities, the most significant being poor quality paper. Genuine Treasury bills are pro duced on distinctive currency paper. The counterfeit securities are printed on paper with a much smoother surface. Also, the digits comprising the serial numbers are poorly aligned horizontally.
