ATTENTION I DATING OF UNITED STATES SAVINGS BONDS Past experience prompts us to bring to the attention of issuing agents the importance of changing the year date in their validating stamps from 1945 to 1946. Extreme care should also be taken in inscribing the issue date on the bonds issued on or after JanuĀ ary 1, 1946. Precaution in these respects will avoid to a great extent the necessity o f recallin g many bonds for reissue due to incorrect dating. If a bond is inadvertently issued showing the year in the issue date as 1945 instead of 1946, the bond and corresponding stub should be treated as spoiled in the process of issue and a correctly dated bond issued. No attempt should be made to correct a bond incorĀ rectly dated. FEDERAL RESERVE BANK OF DALLAS Fiscal A gent o f the U nited States January 2, 1946.
