SUBJECT
Agencies Extend Comment Period on Statement Concerning
Complex Structured Finance Activities
DETAILS
Five federal agencies have agreed to extend the comment period on the proposed
Interagency Statement on Sound Practices Concerning Complex Structured Finance Activities
published in the Federal Register on May 19, 2004.
In a letter submitted to the five agencies on June 10, eight trade associations
representing financial institutions asked the agencies to provide the public with an additional 30day period to review, analyze and submit comments on the proposed interagency statement.
The scope and comment process for this interagency statement remain as stated in the
original Federal Register notice of May 19, 2004 (see this Bank’s Notice 04-28). The Board
must now receive comments by July 19, 2004. Please address comments to Jennifer J. Johnson,
Secretary, Board of Governors of the Federal Reserve System, 20th Street and Constitution
Avenue, N.W., Washington, DC 20551. Also, you may mail comments electronically to
regs.comments@federalreserve.gov. All comments should refer to Docket No. OP-1189.
The public can also view and submit comments on proposals by the Board and other
federal agencies from the www.regulations.gov web site.
