The Committee reviewed quarter dollar reverse designs for the United States Mint America the Beautiful Quarters Program to be issued in 2013, inclusive of coins honoring Perry’s Victory and International Peace Memorial in Ohio and Fort McHenry National Monument and Historic Shrine in Maryland. For the reverse design of the quarter dollar honoring Perry’s Victory and International Peace Memorial in Ohio, the Committee recommended design OH-02 showing the memorial’s sculpture of Admiral Perry along with an image of the Perry’s Victory and International Peace Memorial Monument. The design garnered 14 of a possible 24 points through the Committee’s scoring process. Design MD-03, honoring Fort McHenry National Monument and Historic Shrine in Maryland, earned the Committee’s recommendation. The design, which provides a dramatic image of bombs bursting in the sky over Fort McHenry, received 16 of a possible 24 points through the Committee’s scoring process. . Sincerely, Gary B.
