The purpose of the CCAC meeting was to review and discuss the obverse candidate designs for the George H.W. Bush Presidential $1 Coin. George H.W. Bush Presidential $1 Coin (Obverse): The CCAC’s design recommendation is GHWB01, which is also the preference of the Bush family and the recommendation of the U.S. Commission of Fine Arts. The Committee voiced its strong support for the design due to how this portrait of President Bush reflected “hopefulness,” “warmth,” and “forward thinking.” After a brief review and discussion, the CCAC voted unanimously to recommend GHWB-01.
