The estim ates released today reflect the annual revision to the national incom e and product
accounts, beginning w ith January 2003. A nnual revisions, w hich are usually m ade each July,
incorporate source data that are m ore com plete, m ore detailed, and otherw ise m ore reliable than
previously available. This release includes revised estim ates o f m onthly personal incom e, disposable
personal incom e, and outlays and provides an overview o f the effects o f the revision.
The A ugust 2006 S u r v e y o f C u r r e n t B u s i n e s s w ill contain national incom e and product accounts
tables and an article describing the revisions. The revised estim ates w ill be available from B E A ’s
W eb site at w w w .b ea.g o v .
