The "w o rk ers within scope of study" e stim ates shown in this table provide a reasonably accu rate description of the size and com position of the labor force included in the survey. The estim ates are not intended, however, to serve as a b a sis of com parison with other employment indexes for the a re a to m easu re employment trends or levels since (1) planning of wage surveys requ ires the use of establishm ent data compiled con siderably in advance of the pay roll period studied, and (2) sm all establishm ents are excluded from the scope of the survey. 2 The 1967 edition of the Standard Industrial C la ssificatio n Manual was used in classify in g establishm ents by industry division. 3 Includes all establishm ents with total employment at or above the minimum lim itation. The machine autom atically accum ulates figu res on a number of v ertical columns and computes and usually prints autom atically the debit or credit balan ces.
