To All Banks in the
Eleventh Federal Reserve District:
Another survey of one day’s volume of checks handled at the four offices o f this
bank was made to determine the number of checks that are preprinted in conformity
with the Magnetic Ink Character Recognition Program of the American Bankers
Association. The following tabulation shows the results of the survey:

Since our last survey in May 1961, the conformity ratio increased 5.91 per­
centage points for city checks and 9.21 percentage points for country checks. The
number of banks participating in the program continues to increase satisfactorily.
Banks will be informed periodically as to the progress made in this district.
