OFFICIAL ANNOUNCEM ENT

To the Member Banks in the
Eleventh Federal Reserve District:

I am pleased to announce that the Board of Directors of the Federal Reserve Bank
of Dallas has appointed Howard Carrithers a Vice President of the bank, effective
November 1, 1955.
M r. Carrithers has been placed on special assignment at the El Paso Branch from
November 1 to December 31, 1955 and, on January 1, 1956, will succeed C . M.
Rowland as Vice President in charge of the El Paso Branch. Mr. Rowland has reached
the normal retirement age of 65 under the provisions of the Retirement System of the
Federal Reserve Banks and will retire on December 31, 1955.
Mr. Carrithers was employed by the bank in 1918 and has served in various
capacities, including those of Cashier of the Houston Branch, Assistant Cashier and
Assistant Vice President of the Head Office in Dallas.
