FEDERAL RESERVE BANK
OF DALLAS

Dallas, Texas, November 7, 1941

To the Member Banks of the
Eleventh Federal Reserve District:
Article 4591 of the Revised Civil Statutes of Texas reads in
part as follows:
“ ***and all days appointed by the President of the
United States or by the Governor as days of fasting and
thanksgiving . . . are declared legal holidays.”
Since the President of the United States is proclaiming
Thursday, November 20, 1941, as Thanksgiving Day, and the
Governor of Texas has proclaimed Thursday, November 27, as
Thanksgiving Day, this bank and its branches will observe both
days as legal holidays.
Yours very truly,
R. R. GILBERT
President
