OFFICERS’ AND EMPLOYEES’ SALARY SURVEYS

TO THE CHIEF EXECUTIVE OFFICER
OF ALL BANKS IN THE ELEVENTH
FEDERAL RESERVE DISTRICT:

The F ederal R ese r v e Bank o f D allas began an O ff ic e r s ’ Salary Survey
program for m em ber banks in the E leventh D istr ic t in 1972 and expanded the
program a year la te r to include an E m p lo y e es’ Salary Survey. These programs have
been w ell r e c e iv e d by c o m m e r cia l bankers in the D istrict; approxim ately 400 banks
p articip ated in ea c h survey la st year.
Last year, the opportunity to p articip ate in the surveys was ex te n d ed to
all banks in the E leventh D istr ic t. To p articip ate, your bank needs only to c o m p le te
the e n c lo se d questionnaires and return them by August 1, 1982. If you do not wish
to p articip ate, m erely discard the e n c lo se d m aterials as this program is voluntary,
one designed s tr ic tly for your b e n e fit. The c o m p le te d form s should be returned to:

Also e n c lo se d are instruction manuals for r e fe r e n c e in com p le tin g both
surveys. One copy o f e a c h questionnaire should be retain ed as a work copy, and the
other forw arded to us.
We will, in turn, provide you th e c o m p le ted reports that
contain e x te n s iv e salary and personnel data for 31 o f f ic ia l positions and 28 em p lo y ee
positions. Each position is surveyed as to average, minimum, and maximum salaries,
senority, bonus, r e tir em e n t, insurance, and other in c en tiv e s. For the reports to be as
m eaningful as possible, com parisons are made on the basis o f bank siz e , as w ell as
geographical location . Final data will be returned to you in tim e to assist with salary
appraisals for the com ing year.
