I N VICTORY

This War Bond is evidence of your determination to back
our fighting men for an early victory.
It

also represents your financial security and your postwar

prosperity.
Don't cash this bond except in an emergency.
Before you cash this bond, ask yourself:

"Is the emergency so

great that I must reduce my support and withdraw these dollars
from the battle to win the war—and the peace?"
You gain and your country gains when this bond is not cashed
before maturity.

Greetings
Today is our thirtieth birthday.

T h i r t y years

is not a l o n g period i n w o r l d history, nor even
in the affairs of man.

But few institutions, such

as ours, have been called upon to assume more
varied or more grave responsibilities w i t h i n so
brief a span of time.
W e have given a good account of ourselves
as a public service institution.

T h e credit be-

longs to the men and women w h o have carried
on the w o r k of the Bank, year after year, w i t h
loyalty and efficiency.

O n this anniversary, we

give particular credit to those whose f a i t h f u l
service has extended over a quarter of a century,
covering most of the period the Bank has been
in existence.

sometimes she was engaged otherwise.
F i n a l l y , i n the f o l l o w i n g

MISS BELLA FURSTENBERG, treasurer of the Federal Reserve
C l u b , is one of the best known women i n the Bank, not o n l y
because of her length of service, but also because of her keen
interest i n the progress of the Bank and the welfare of the
staff.
Because of her qualifications, she was early chosen as a
member of the W o m e n ' s A d v i s o r y C o u n c i l , w h i c h has been
recently established.
She has been at various times a member
of the T r a n s i t , D i s c o u n t , B i l l , Securities and Foreign Funds
C o n t r o l ; and is at present associated w i t h W i t h h e l d Taxes.
M i s s Furstenberg has been very active i n the affairs of the
A m e r i c a n Institute of Banking. She has taken many courses there
and for some t i m e has been a member of the W o m e n ' s C o m m i t tee. She was chosen this year by the Bank to be a delegate to
the A m e r i c a n I n s t i t u t e of Banking Conference at St. Louis.
She was a vice consul i n this Bank.
M i s s Furstenberg is quiet i n manner, b u t her smile and her
warmhearted interest i n the employees has earned for her many
friends.
She has the good wishes of everyone, and i t is generally felt that the C l u b is indeed fortunate i n having her as
treasurer.
