To all Banking Institutions, and Others Concerned,
in the Second Federal Beserve District:

In accordance with instructions received today from the Secretary of the
Treasury, the subscription books for the current offering of 2 percent Treasury
Bonds of 1950-52, dated October 19, 1942, due March 15, 1952, and of V/2 percent
Treasury Notes of Series B-1946, dated June 5, 1942, due December 15, 1946, will
close at the close of business Friday, October 9, 1942.
Subscriptions addressed to a Federal Reserve Bank or Branch and placed in the
mail before 12 o'clock midnight Friday, October 9, 1942, will be considered as having
been entered before the close of the subscription books.
