J MODIFICATION OF REQUIREMENTS FOR SORTING CASH ITEMS To the Member and Nonmember Clearing Banks of the Second Federal Reserve District: You are advised that, effective immediately, the cash items payable in the Second Federal Reserve District which are sent to our head office at New York City need be sorted into only the following classes: 1. Immediate-credit items. 2. Items payable in Buffalo (as heretofore, may be sorted with items payable at other one-day points). 3. Items payable elsewhere in the State of New York. 4. Items payable in the portions of New Jersey and Connecticut that are included in the Second Federal Reserve District. Our New York Head Office Time Schedule and Buffalo Branch Time Schedule (Circulars Nos. 1971 and 1972, effective September 1, 1939) are hereby amended to give effect to this change.
