Bonds of 1945-47
On Exchange Offering of United States of America 1 ^ Percent Treasury
Notes of Series C-1940

To all Banks and Others Concerned
in the Second Federal Reserve District:

In accordance with instructions received today from the Treasury Department
the exchange subscription books for the offering of United States of America 2%
percent Treasury Bonds of 1945-47, additional issue, dated and bearing interest from
September 16, 1935, due September 15, 1947, and the exchange subscription books
for the offering of United States of America l1/^ percent Treasury Notes of Series
C-1940, dated and bearing interest from December 16,1935, due December 15,1940,
will close at the close of business Thursday, December 5, 1935, for the receipt of
subscriptions in payment of which, under the terms of each offering, only Treasury
Notes of Series D-1935, maturing December 15,1935, may be tendered. Any exchange
subscription for either issue placed in the mail before midnight, Thursday, December 5, 1935, as evidenced by postoffice cancellation, will be considered a timely subscription.
