Another new counterfeit $5 Federal Reserve note is brought
of banking institutions in this Federal Reserve District.

of the Treasury Department describes the note in its circular letter N o . 456, as
follows:
" O n the Federal Reserve Bank of Chicago; check letter ' D ' ; face
plate N o . 143; W. G. McAdoo, Secretary of the Treasury; John Burke,
Treasurer of the United States; portrait of Lincoln.
" T h i s counterfeit is printed from photo-mechanical plates, of poor
workmanship, on fair quality of paper, without silk threads or imitation
of them.
