S tev en s of Plainfield, New Jersey, as a Class C director of this bank for the unexpired portion of the term ending December 31, 1950, and has designated him as Chairman and Federal Reserve Agent for the remainder of 1948. Mr. Stevens is Chairman of the Board of J. P. Stevens & Co., Inc., manufacturers and distributors of textiles, New York, New York, and a director o f a number of other corporations. He was a Class B director of this bank from January 1, 1934 until January 8, 1942, when he resigned to enter active service with the United States Army. Prior to his resignation, he had been active in national defense work for some time. He served in the Quartermaster Corps for over three and one-half years, ultimately holding the rank of colonel, and was awarded the Distinguished Service Medal. A llan S proul, President.
