DEPARTMENT STORE SALES IN JUNE 1933
Preliminary report
Preliminary figures on the value of department store sales show a decrease
from May to June of about, the estimated seasonal amount, The Federal Reserve
Board'a index, which makes allowance "both for number' of business days and for
usual seasonal changes, was 66 in June on the basis of the I923--IS25 average as
100, compared with 67 in May and 67 in April,
In comparison with a year ago the value of sales for June, according to preliminary figures, was 4 per cent smaller. The aggregate for the first six months
of the year was 15 per cent smaller than last year.
